Frequently Asked Questions

TMG Pro Basketball 11 is a major upgrade from previous versions. The team file structure has changed, the player cards have changed.  Current owners of previous versions have asked many questions about the new product.

Q: I purchased an earlier version of TMG Basketball and want to upgrade to TMG 11.  How will I receive my free version 11 software?
A: Simply send an e-mail request to tmgbasketball@sbcglobal.net . The full software package will be sent to you attached to the reply to your message. If you do not have a broadband connection, or your network blocks large attachments, you can receive the software on CD for free with any card order.

Q: Are my team files compatible with TMG 11?
A: No. TMG 11 has a new team file structure.  Be sure to ask for team files matching those card sets that you have already purchased. This can be done in the same e-mail requesting TMG 11. There is no time limit on this offer. You can have the new team files e-mailed to you at any time.

Q:  I have a project running with an older version of TMG Pro Basketball.  Will I be able to convert these team files to the new format and preserve my accumulated statistics?
A:  There is no automatic conversion for this. With basic spreadsheet skill,  manual conversion is not a major task. Instructions for the procedure will be posted on one of the support forums. The procedure is a matter of adding three additional fields to your existing files with easy-to-obtain information.

Q: Is TMG 11 that much better than earlier versions?
A:  Easily.  The update is free. After playing TMG 11, you will not want to go back to your previous version. It should be noted here that TMG 11 will not disrupt the current install of TMG 2010c or any other earlier installation. It installs as a completely new program. You can host both versions on the same computer at the same time.

Q: Are my player cards still good?
A: Yes. The "numbers" have not changed. The new cards are smaller and do not have printed backs. This allows for a price reduction instead of a price increase, as well as opening up more desktop room and tapping into card management accessories available for standard-sized sports cards such as sleeves, and protectors. The new cards have the same sized print face and are just as readable as the older cards.
